The little Hippo painting named “Strength” is inspired by a story that touched my heart. Few months ago I came across a post on instagram from Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - an organisation that rescue orphaned African animals, and there he was “Bumpy” a baby rhino that they have just rescued, walking and interacting with humans now who became his new family. He loves spending time in the water and having lots of naps! - a bubble of innocent beauty. I do have a soft spot for the animals so when I saw the video and read a story about this rounded hippopotamus who just lost her mum, I knew that I wanted to paint it - and so here he is in a small version of mine. It reminde me  that we all have strength inside, despite obstacles and hard circumstances in our lives, we all have the power to keep moving forward. Life is never just easy, or always happy place - but that’s what makes us appreciate moments of joy, love and beauty and the value and depth of life itself.
